Audit the evidence before buying an AI-SEO promise

Check whether your important pages are accessible, specific, attributable and useful for the questions customers ask. Then measure search visibility and qualified enquiries. No schema field or file can guarantee a citation from an AI service.

A business owner asks why a competitor appears in an AI-generated answer while their own company does not. The natural reaction is to look for a new optimisation trick. Usually the more useful starting point is to inspect what the website actually says, which pages can be reached and whether its claims are supported.

This AI search visibility audit for Dubai businesses is a working checklist, not a promise of placement in ChatGPT, Gemini or another service. It complements our AI-search overview by turning the discussion into an inspection process with recorded findings.

Define the questions that matter to customers

Build a small question set from sales conversations, support enquiries and Search Console data. Include commercial comparisons and practical constraints, not only broad service names. A buyer asking about integrating an existing ERP has a different need from a student asking what an ERP is.

For example, a software company might assess questions about choosing an integration partner, preserving data during migration and estimating ownership cost. Write down which existing page should answer each question. If several articles repeat the same general introduction, another article may add noise instead of useful coverage.

Check crawlability before rewriting the copy

Inspect the intended URL, HTTP status, robots directives, canonical and links from other pages. Important explanations should be available as readable page content, not only inside an image, an inaccessible document or an interaction that never exposes the answer in the initial HTML.

Distinguish deliberate access restrictions from accidental ones. Different search and AI services can have different access policies; review the documentation for the specific service involved before changing bot rules. Do not remove authentication or publish confidential material merely to make it easier to retrieve.

Use Google's guidance without inventing extra requirements

Google states that its established SEO practices remain relevant to AI Overviews and AI Mode, without a separate special optimisation requirement. That supports a disciplined approach: useful content, clear technical access and accurate information, rather than a paid guarantee based on a mysterious AI-ranking signal.

Structured data should describe the visible page honestly. Article markup can identify the headline, author, publication date and image. It is not a licence to invent expertise, reviews or publication history. A special-looking file or a high word count is not proof that a page deserves to be cited.

Evaluate each page as a standalone answer

Read the opening section without the navigation or sales presentation. Does it explain the question, give a direct answer and state important limits? A useful answer can be concise initially and detailed afterward. Readers should not have to pass several paragraphs of generic technology enthusiasm before finding the point.

Then inspect the sections that support the answer: decision criteria, examples, alternatives, exceptions and next steps. Specificity matters. Saying an integration needs testing is weak; explaining how to test an ambiguous timeout and avoid a duplicate record gives a buyer something they can act on.

Make local relevance specific rather than repetitive

A Dubai-focused article should address a local buyer's needs where they affect the decision: service availability, language coverage, regional operations or a documented regulatory requirement. Repeating Dubai and UAE in every sentence does not add that context.

Use location pages only when there is a genuine reason for separate coverage. Avoid publishing near-identical pages for several cities with nothing changed except the place name. On a UAE and Saudi website, distinguish the markets when the subject genuinely differs, and keep internal links pointed at the appropriate service.

Strengthen attribution without manufacturing authority

State who is responsible for the article and how readers can contact the business. Cite official documentation for changing requirements. Label hypothetical examples as illustrative. If an article discusses prices, identify whether they are real quotations, dated market research or merely a worksheet for estimating a project's scope.

Do not add a fictitious expert reviewer, invented client result or a historical publication date to make new content appear established. If a real project can be discussed only anonymously, explain its boundaries and use only results the business can substantiate.

Measure observations separately from outcomes

Record the exact question, service, date and response you inspected. AI-generated responses can vary, so one favourable screenshot is not a stable ranking position. Repeated checks can reveal patterns, but they still need to be interpreted cautiously.

Track what happens after a visitor arrives: which landing page they use, whether they enquire and whether the enquiry fits your services. Keep organic-search reporting separate from identifiable referral traffic where possible. Do not report every unlabelled visit as an AI referral or assume a citation caused a lead without evidence.

Prioritise a small set of meaningful improvements

Choose a few important pages and document their current weaknesses. Improve missing answers, resolve broken links, refresh changing facts and make the next action clear. Preserve established URLs where their purpose remains unchanged. This makes the work easier to assess than publishing dozens of loosely related articles at once.

If Search Console shows impressions but few clicks, use our low-CTR diagnosis guide before assuming that AI is the only explanation. Search intent, position, geography and the result presentation can all affect the interpretation.

What a useful audit should deliver

Ask for an inventory of tested URLs, the question-to-page map, technical findings, unsupported claims, recommended edits and a measurement plan. Every finding should name an affected page and a practical correction. Avoid reports made entirely of generic advice with no connection to your actual content.

Gligx's SEO service can be scoped around these checks. Bring your priority services, examples of customer questions and available search data to a consultation. Better access and better answers are sensible goals; a guaranteed position in an AI response is not a promise we can responsibly make.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can an audit guarantee inclusion in ChatGPT, Gemini or AI Overviews?

No. An audit can identify accessibility, content and measurement improvements, but inclusion and citations are controlled by the respective services and can vary between responses.

Does Google require special AI-search markup?

Google says its existing SEO practices remain relevant to AI Overviews and AI Mode without separate special optimisation requirements. Use accurate structured data that matches the visible page rather than invented signals.

Should we publish more pages to improve AI visibility?

Only when the pages answer distinct, useful questions. Audit existing coverage first. Repeating a broad article with different wording can create overlap without adding evidence or helping a buyer.

How should a business measure AI-search progress?

Record dated observations for a consistent question set, then track identifiable referrals and qualified enquiries where possible. A single favourable response or screenshot is not a reliable ranking metric.
